MAC is all of those things and more.The RoleMultnomah Athletic Club (MAC) is seeking a Seasonal Outdoor Coordinator to join our Outdoor Sports team for the peak summer season. This role works closely with the Outdoor Program Supervisor to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality outdoor recreational programming for youth and adults.The Seasonal Outdoor Coordinator plays a key operational role, ensuring seamless execution across a high volume of concurrent programs, including Youth Adventure Camps, weekday outings, and weekend guided trips. This position blends hands-on fieldwork with detailed administrative coordination and requires availability during evenings and weekends based on program needs.What You’ll DoProgram Delivery & Field SupportGuide Outdoor Program offerings in a professional, safe, and knowledgeable mannerStep in as a guide when needed, including coverage for staff calloutsDrive 15-passenger vans to and from program locations as requiredAssist with Adventure Camp check-in and on-site program supportOperational Coordination & Problem SolvingServe as the primary point of contact for weekend programming, ensuring all trip details are accurate, communicated, and executed effectivelyProvide real-time problem solving and operational support during active programsProactively identify and resolve logistical challenges before they impact program deliverySupport guide check-ins and ensure alignment on expectations, safety standards, and logisticsLeadership & Team SupportProvide leadership and on-the-ground support to guides and volunteersReinforce program expectations and ensure clarity of roles, logistics, and timelinesFoster a collaborative, professional, and safety-focused team environmentParticipant Communication & AdministrationPrepare, review, and distribute clear, detailed participant communications (logistics, meeting locations, timing, and expectations)Respond promptly and professionally to participant questions and concernsCoordinate trip logistics, including roster management, waitlist outreach, and guide communicationsMaintain accurate program records, including attendance, incident reports, and documentationEquipment, Gear & Safety ManagementPrepare, stage, and organize gear for weekday and weekend programsTrack gear usage, maintenance needs, and replacements to ensure program readinessMaintain, inventory, and restock first-aid kits and safety equipment (AEDs, radios, GPS devices)Uphold all MAC safety policies and procedures and demonstrate safe work practicesIdentify and report unsafe conditions and workplace incidents promptlyClub RepresentationRepresent Multnomah Athletic Club with professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service at all times Job ConditionsRequires work both in outdoor field environments and in an office settingSchedule may shift to accommodate weekend programming demands and avoid overtimeRequires local and regional travel for program deliveryExposure to varying weather conditions and outdoor environmentsMust have ability to travel both within and outside of the stateMust be available to work irregular hours including holidays, evenings, and weekendsThe physical ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly required.What You’ll BringExperience & Qualifications5+ years of experience in outdoor recreation, guiding, and/or program coordinationWilderness First Aid (WFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certificationAMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) certification preferredAt least 2 years of experience building, leading, and supporting teamsExperience working with youth and/or group-based programmingSkills & CompetenciesStrong organizational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detailDemonstrated ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneouslyProfessional, calm, and solutions-oriented approach in dynamic environmentsComputer proficiency including Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and the ability to learn new systems quicklyAdditional RequirementsCurrent CPR/AED, First Aid, and SafeSport certifications (or ability to obtain within the first three months of employment)Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a 15-passenger vanWhat You'll GainAt Multnomah Athletic Club, we believe in taking care of our team members.
