Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Position Overview Learn the essential tools of a Manufacturing Engineer and apply them to projects that improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance ergonomics across the plant. Location Part‑time internship, onsite at the Kalamazoo facility, a few hours daily, Monday through Friday. What you will do Contribute as a member of the Engineering team by developing projects aligned with company goals. Investigate and analyze the cost and reliability of equipment and processes. Study performance of existing equipment or processes, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements through redesign or modification. Design parts using 3D CAD software and implement them in manufacturing. Execute validation for process changes or equipment upgrades. Create standard operating procedures and work instructions for process changes. Collaborate with other departments to drive projects forward. Calculate cost impacts and ROI for implemented projects. Follow up to ensure project schedules are met. Qualifications & Skills Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, sophomore or higher class standing preferred. Strong foundation in basic engineering courses. Prior manufacturing experience preferred. CAD or SolidWorks experience preferred.
