Area Sales Manager
Area Sales ManagerLakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit an Area Sales Manager to support market development and sales efforts within the construction industry. Our client is a growing organization that supplies high-quality building materials to residential builders, contractors, and property managers. This role is responsible for developing new business, retaining and growing existing customer relationships, and leading sales efforts focused on single-family and multifamily construction projects. The Area Sales Manager works closely with inside sales and operational partners to drive revenue, manage bids, and ensure successful project execution.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targetsIdentify, pursue, and secure new customer relationships through outreach, meetings, and industry engagementGrow existing accounts by cross-selling additional product linesMaintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and customer interactionsStay current on industry trends, products, and competitive landscapeAttend industry events and trade shows to build relationships and generate leadsCustomer & Account ManagementRetain and service existing builder, contractor, and property management accountsServe as a trusted partner to customers throughout the sales and project lifecycleMake formal requests for product inclusion in architectural specificationsProject Bidding & Estimating (supported by inside sales)Review architectural plans and specifications to recommend productsCoordinate with suppliers to secure pricingPrepare, submit, and follow up on formal bids, clearly communicating valueContract Review & Project Execution (supported by inside sales)Review purchase orders and contracts for accuracy and completenessCoordinate product orders, submittals, and scheduled deliveriesCollaborate with operations to support job site executionMonitor project progress, documentation, costs, and profitabilityLeadership & CollaborationEstablish sales goals and performance metricsSupport and collaborate with inside product specialists and cross-functional partnersAlign with operations, purchasing, and marketing teams to ensure customer satisfactionRequired Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree preferred5+ years of field sales experience within the construction or building materials industryStrong knowledge of residential and multifamily construction marketsProven ability to build rapport and develop new customer relationshipsExperience with project-based selling and bidding environmentsExcellent organization, communication, and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating cross-functionallySupervisory or team leadership experience a plusKitchen and bath or interior finish experience a plusBenefits:Competitive compensation with incentive opportunityHealth, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with company contributionPaid time off and paid holidaysMileage or vehicle-related support (as applicable)Professional growth and advancement opportunitiesAbout Lakeside HR Group: At Lakeside HR Group, we understand that finding the right job is essential for your career success.
