Structured Cabling Installer - Level 3
TekCom Resources is seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Installer II - Level 3 to support commercial structured cabling and network infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for a technician with strong copper installation experience who can independently manage small scopes of work, perform advanced terminations/testing, and help lead junior installers in the field. The Installer II (Level 3) will be responsible for advanced copper cabling installation, rack build-outs, backbone cabling, pathway infrastructure, documentation, and assisting with project coordination, while maintaining high-quality workmanship and professionalism on active job sites. This position does provide relocation assistance. Responsibilities Own and execute small project scopes independently
Install backbone copper cabling and pathway supports
Perform advanced copper terminations and testing
Build, mount, and dress racks to professional standards
Troubleshoot basic structured cabling issues
Understand grounding and bonding fundamentals
Assist with material planning, staging, and counts
Train and mentor Installer I technicians and helpers
Read and interpret drawings, cable schedules, and project documentation
Communicate professionally with General Contractors, customers, and project leadership
Maintain accurate labeling, documentation, and jobsite photos
Support entry-level fiber handling and infrastructure activities
Expectations Deliver clean, organized, and professional installations
Complete assigned scopes with minimal punch-list or rework
Demonstrate leadership and ownership on active projects
Maintain high-quality documentation and labeling standards
Follow safety standards and structured cabling best practices
Operate independently on most project scopes within the first 30–60 days

Required Qualifications 3+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience
Proven copper installation proficiency
Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and best practices
Ability to work independently and lead small work scopes
Reliable transportation and strong professionalism on jobsites
Ability to work in active construction environments including lifts, heights, and overhead work
Preferred Qualifications BICSI Installer 2 —Copper (INSTC)
Manufacturer system warranty certifications
Lift certification
Experience with fiber handling and basic fiber infrastructure
Previous experience mentoring junior installers
