Manual Machinist This role is responsible for fabricating precision tools and machine components using a variety of manual machining equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience, strong print-reading skills, and the ability to design and fabricate custom parts when prints are not available. ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate a wide range of manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport milling machines, single turret lathes, surface grinders, EDM machines, drill presses, sanders, saws, hydraulic presses, and other toolroom equipment. Fabricate tooling, fixtures, and machine components from engineering prints as well as custom, print-less designs. Machine parts using a variety of materials, including carbon and alloy steels, aluminum, brass and bronze, carbide, and material combinations. Maintain accurate tooling and machine-part inventory records, including restocking and initial inventory setup. Collaborate closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams on improvement projects and urgent repair needs. Ensure all work meets dimensional, quality, and safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards. Essential SkillsMinimum 10+ years of hands-on experience as a manual machinist. Expert-level proficiency with manual mills, lathes, and grinders. Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints. Proven ability to design and fabricate custom tooling without formal prints. Experience working with tight tolerances and precision components. Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with manual lathe, calipers, grinder, and metal fabrication. Proficiency in GD&T, inspection, tooling, drill press, Mastercam, tool and die, production, boring mill, Okuma, threading, and mechanical skills. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70720.00 - $83200.00/yr.
