We operate like a startup - lean, fast-moving, and focused on building something modern in a legacy industry.We're expanding our Sales/Marketing team and hiring an Territory Development Manager (TDM) to own and grow defined U.S. territories aligned heavily with time zones. This is a chance to build an agent/broker pipeline, shape relationships, and grow alongside the business.Position SummaryThe Territory Development Manager (TDM) is a revenue‑focused growth role responsible for building, developing, and expanding a defined geographic territory within the specialty insurance ecosystem.As a high‑growth Managing General Underwriter (MGU), we operate with a startup mindset - meaning this role requires ownership, initiative, and accountability. The TDM is not a passive agency manager; this role blends outbound business development, inbound opportunity management, broker engagement, and pipeline creation.The TDM is expected to proactively generate opportunity, deepen distribution relationships, and contribute directly to company growth through disciplined territory execution.Core ResponsibilitiesTerritory & Growth OwnershipActively build a sales pipeline in a defined geographic territoryDevelop and execute a territory growth plan aligned with company objectivesIdentify high‑potential brokers, agencies, and partners within the regionExpand distribution through targeted outbound prospecting (≈65% outbound activity)Opportunity & Pipeline DevelopmentManage existing relationships and convert them into qualified opportunities (≈35%)Conduct structured discovery conversations to assess fit, appetite, and growth potentialAdvance opportunities through the pipeline in partnership with underwriting and leadershipMaintain accurate, timely CRM and pipeline reportingBroker & Partner EngagementBuild and maintain trusted relationships with retail agencies and brokersDeliver virtual meetings, calls, and presentations via phone and ZoomRepresent the company at select in‑person meetings, trade shows, and industry eventsConduct periodic new producer training sessionsServe as a market feedback loop, sharing insights on competition, trends, and coverage needsPerformance & ReportingTrack and report on growth metrics tied to quarterly bonus objectivesProvide regular updates on territory performance, pipeline health, and blockersIdentify production barriers and proactively work with internal teams to resolve themWhat Success Looks LikeA consistent, growing pipeline of qualified producer relationshipsStrong producer engagement and repeat opportunity flowMeasurable contribution to territory growth metricsIncreasing strategic responsibility as the territory maturesClear readiness for advancement as the organization scalesRequired QualificationsExperience in account development, business development, insurance, or a revenue‑adjacent roleComfort with outbound prospecting and proactive relationship buildingStrong communication and presentation skills (phone, Zoom, email)Ability to operate independently in a remote, startup environmentOrganized, disciplined, and metrics‑orientedAbility and willingness to travel within assigned territoryPreferred (Not Required)Experience with MGAs, MGUs, carriers, or retail agenciesFamiliarity with construction and or specialty insurance productsStartup or high‑growth company experienceTerritory‑Specific AddendaMountain Region (MT)Applicants must reside in one of the following states: MT, AZ, UT, WY, CO, NMThis territory emphasizes relationship‑driven growth across a geographically broad footprint with significant expansion opportunity.Background Check is required
