If who we are and what we do resonates with you, we invite you to join our high-performance team!Job SummaryResponsible for performing technical work across a wide range of environmental, health, and safety disciplines to ensure full compliance with organizational EHS standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This role coordinates EHS compliance activities for safety and environmental programs, reviews regulations, supports incident investigations, and serves as a liaison between regulatory agencies and site operations. The Specialist maintains compliance documentation, supports emergency preparedness training, and promotes event-free operations through proactive risk identification and mitigation.Impact of the RoleGeneral ProfileRequires working knowledge and experience in own job discipline and broadens capabilitiesContinues to build knowledge of the company, processes and customersPerforms a range of assignments related to job disciplineUses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situationsReceives a moderate level of guidance and directionConsistent exercise of discretion & judgmentEssential FunctionsOutlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.Required Qualifications* Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience* Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Bachelor's DegreeDiscipline/Major: Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline preferredKnowledge, skills & abilities: Safety best practices. Safety communications. Safety inspections. Safety investigations. Safety policies and procedures. Safety training. Inspection documentation.Prior experience with ISO9001 and/or AS9100.Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.Travel RequirementsUp to 25% travel likely. _____________________________The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
