Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Transportation Planner role based in Orange County, NC. The Transportation Planner will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies and plans to improve transportation systems and services for the county. Daily tasks include conducting transportation studies, analyzing land use and urban planning trends, coordinating with regional and local agencies, and preparing reports and plans to address transportation challenges. The role also involves data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and creating innovative solutions to enhance mobility and accessibility for residents. Qualifications Experience in Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, and Urban PlanningKnowledge in Land Use and its relationship to transit-oriented developmentStrong Analytical Skills for data collection, interpretation, and problem-solvingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and agenciesFamiliarity with local, state, and federal transportation regulationsBachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Geography, or a related fieldExperience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or similar tools is a plusA Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AICP) are a strong advantage
