Title: Industrial Laboratory TechnicianLocation: Mcintosh, ALSalary: $64,000 - $87,000Schedule: Standard rotating 12-hour shiftsFocus: This position conducts and analyzes routine and non-routine samples from Production to ensure product meets customer specifications; prepares solutions for laboratory and production plant use and maintains and troubleshoots instrumentation to ensure proper calibration when analyzing products.Industrial Lab Technician Essential Functions:Conducts daily routine and non-routine analytical testing of chemical products and reagents, including raw materials, in process and final product stages using a combination of wet chemistry and instrumental analytical techniquesUses a range of methods from standard and well-established routines to specially adapted processesPrepares standardized lab reagents for lab and plant use and maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instruments and equipmentInterprets data and makes or recommends adjustments based on findings and records data, observations and conclusions in spreadsheets and databasesTracks inventory levels and orders necessary suppliesMay assist in the development and/or modification of new proceduresWorks on special projects under guidance of technical specialist/chemistIndustrial Lab Technician Job Requirements Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: HS Diploma/GED and 2+ years of lab-related work experience; ORAssociate's degree* in Chemistry or science related discipline; ORBachelor's degree* in Chemistry or science related discipline; ORMilitary enlisted occupational specialist of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician) and one year of lab-related work experienceWork experience in preparing samples for high purity analyses as well as conducting high purity analyses to obtain accurate results and analyzing resulting data to make reporting decisions based on pre-established specification parametersAbility to interpret data, including use of statistical tools and make or recommend adjustments based on findingsKnowledge of basic laboratory instrumentation and ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on laboratory equipmentGood written and verbal communication skills; creative problem-solving skillsAbility to interface with all levels of employeesAttention-to-detailAbility to work all applicable shifts (including weekends and holidays) overtime and call-ins when support is neededBasic computer skills: Microsoft Office, quality data management systems or laboratory information management systemMust be able to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)Preferred: Prior manufacturing, process or chemical plant experience.Knowledge and experience with quality management systems (i.e. ISO, RC).Knowledge of SAP, Environmental, OSHA and DOT regulations.Prior Olin experienceStrong Careers Grow HereAs a global leader in both chemical manufacturing and ammunition, Olin empowers over 8,000 individuals to make an impact both at work and in our surrounding communities.
