Position SummaryThe current vacancies are in the Parks & Recreation Department.The Golf Grounds Crew job is perfect for anyone who loves golf or working outdoors. In this position, entry-level staff will operate string trimmers, push mowers, backpack blowers, utility vehicles and other equipment associated with the daily tasks of maintaining a golf course. In this position you can expect an outdoor work environment, flexible scheduling, uniforms and complimentary golf as available.Where: Keller or Goodrich Golf CoursesEstimated hours: Weekdays, 6 a.m. or earlier and some weekends. Full-time and part-time hours available.Basic Functions: To assist maintenance and operations staff and/or other building staff located at Parks and Recreation facilities (such as the Golf Courses, Ice Arenas, Nature Center, Winter recreation areas, and Parks) by answering telephones, cleaning buildings, removing trash, raking, shoveling, mowing, trimming, selling and collecting tickets, and performing related duties as assigned. Winter month positions will support day-to-day and overnight snowmaking and grooming operations. They will also work as part of a team to cover the cross-county ski trails and sledding hills with sufficient base snow to ensure exceptional conditions for our guests throughout the winter months.Please Note: This job posting is being conducted to fill temporary (not to exceed 6 months in length) appointments. Lay sod, and repair turf damage and/or apply fertilizer and pesticides (if qualified and assigned).Monitor building during rentals and/or events including the opening and closing of the building.Operate scoreboards, PA systems, and/or other electronic systems or devices.Patrol designated areas as assigned, report disturbances and assist patrons as necessary.Conduct user surveys.Drive company vehicles as assigned.(The work assigned to a position in this classification may not include all possible tasks in this description and does not limit the assignment of any additional tasks in this classification.
