EHS Engineer

Overview As an EHS Engineer at Hexcel in Amesbury, you will support the site’s environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. You will partner with operations to uphold ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and advance sustainability initiatives. You will analyze EHS performance, lead trainings, and contribute to incident investigations and risk mitigation. ResponsibilitiesMaintain and improve the site's EHS management systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrityManage environmental programs, permits, compliance reporting, and monitoring for EPCRA, air emissions, hazardous waste, wastewater, and stormwaterMonitor EHS performance data, prepare reports, and support sustainability initiativesConduct inspections and audits, track regulatory changes, ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and related requirementsDevelop and deliver EHS training and communications to promote safety cultureSupport health and safety programs including chemical safety, hazard communication, industrial hygiene, and respiratory protectionReview chemicals, equipment, and process changes for EHS risk; participate in risk assessments, PHAs, and HAZOPLead or support emergency preparedness activities, drills, training, and incident coordinationInvestigate incidents, track corrective actions, and drive sustainable improvementsServe as an EHS resource for site personnel, leadership, and regulatory agencies Key requirementsBachelor in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of EHS/environmental compliance experience in manufacturingKnowledge of environmental regulations for air, hazardous waste, wastewater, stormwaterExperience with environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and compliance, including RCRA LQG and air permittingFamiliarity with sustainability initiatives (waste reduction, recycling, emissions reduction)Experience with EHS management systems (ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001) is preferredStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsProfessional certifications such as CHMM, ASP, CSP, CIH, QEP preferredAbility to obtain/maintain a DOD Security ClearanceStrong communication and collaborationAnalytical mindset and attention to detailProblem-solving and initiativeISO 14001 and ISO 45001Regulatory compliance (air emissions, hazardous waste, wastewater, stormwater)RCRA LQG management
