This position performs DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol specimen collections, including direct observation collections for male donors as mandated by federal regulations. You will serve as a frontline representative of our company, ensuring accurate documentation and exceptional customer service while maintaining the integrity of the collection process.Comprehensive Training ProvidedNo prior specimen collection experience? No problem. Test Smartly Labs will train you to become a skilled collection specialist. Our comprehensive training program covers:DOT Drug Testing protocols and compliance (49 CFR Part 40)Non-DOT urine, hair, saliva, nail, and mouth swab collectionsBreath Alcohol Testing (BAT) certificationLegal DNA collection and chain-of-custody proceduresSweat Patch application and collectionAnd much moreWe sponsor your DOT certification for Specimen Collections and Breath Alcohol Testing — obtained within 60 days of hire.Regulatory Requirement — Bona Fide Occupational QualificationFederal regulations under 49 CFR Part 40.67(g)(2) mandate that direct observation collections must be performed by a collector of the same gender as the donor. This position requires the collector to perform direct observation collections for male donors. Gender is a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) for this role pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and applicable state laws. Male applicants are required for this position to comply with federal DOT regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct specimen collections following DOT and non-DOT protocolsPerform direct observation collections for male donors as required by federal regulationsMaintain strict chain of custody documentation with complete accuracyExecute legal DNA collection proceduresComplete all testing forms, lab paperwork, and software documentation accurately and promptlySterilize and clean collection equipment; maintain organized examination roomsDeliver professional, courteous service to all donors, clients, and company representativesAdhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and all laboratory policies and proceduresRequired QualificationsExperienceMinimum 1–2 years of relevant work experience in healthcare, customer service, medical office, laboratory, or a related fieldProfessional Skills — Non-NegotiableExceptional attention to detail — accuracy in documentation is mandatory, not optionalOutstanding customer service abilities — you will interact with clients daily and represent our companyProfessional demeanor and composure — must maintain professionalism in all situationsStrong verbal and written communication skills — clear communication with donors, staff, and clients is essentialComputer proficiency — must be comfortable with Excel, Word, Outlook, and various software systemsMandatory RequirementsValid driver's license and reliable personal transportation (required for mobile and onsite collections)Must pass pre-employment drug screening and consent to random drug testing as a condition of continued employmentMust pass criminal background checkAuthorization to work in the United StatesPreferred QualificationsPrior drug testing or specimen collection experienceMedical Assistant certification or Phlebotomy certification — enables expanded responsibilities including blood draws and additional lab testing proceduresKnowledge of 49 CFR Part 40 regulationsExperience with detailed documentation and compliance proceduresWillingness to perform mobile and onsite testing — a significant plus for candidates seeking additional hours and varietyBilingual abilities (English required, Spanish or other languages a plus)Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environmentsDrug-Free Workplace PolicyTest Smartly Labs maintains a strict drug-free workplace.
