Come and be part of a new season of growth as Mariners Church responds to God’s call in launching new congregations.Job DescriptionThe Videographer is responsible for capturing, editing, and producing compelling video content that supports storytelling, teaching, and digital ministry initiatives, reporting to the Senior Editor on the Communications Team. A full-time position, this position primarily works Monday-Friday, but select projects will require work during weekend services on a case-by-case basis. Although the position is regularly Monday-Friday, ministry happens in the evenings and during the weekends. All Mariners staff are expected to work during Christmas Eve and Easter services, as well as participate in Rooted once/year. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards act.As a Videographer, you help tell stories that inspire people to follow Jesus and fearlessly change the world. This role contributes to the growing video presence of Mariners Church across storytelling, digital content, and studio productions. You will capture and craft compelling video through filming, editing, and post-production while supporting both field and studio-based environments, collaborating with producers, creatives, and ministry partners to bring ideas to life with excellence and intentionality.ResponsibilitiesCreative ProductionRaise the creative bar by producing visually compelling video that reflects the excellence and heart of Mariners Church.Capture high-quality footage across a range of formats, including storytelling pieces, interviews, teaching content, worship sets, and event coverage.Collaborate with producers and creative teams to develop visual approaches that support the story or message being communicated.Translate scripts, outlines, or concepts into engaging video content.Studio ProductionSupport filming and production within Mariners studio spaces for online sermons, worship sets, podcasts, and other digital content.Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment in controlled studio environments.Help maintain studio readiness, including lighting setups, camera configurations, and general production workflow.Work alongside producers and technical teams to ensure smooth and excellent studio recordings.Editing and Post ProductionEdit video content from rough cut through final delivery.Add motion graphics, sound design, color correction, and final formatting for multiple platforms.Prepare videos for digital platforms, including social media, online services, and internal communications.Ensure storytelling clarity, pacing, and visual quality across all edits.Media and Equipment ManagementMaintain production and post-production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and accessoriesManage media organization, including ingesting footage, organizing project files, and archiving final contentAssist in maintaining a clean and organized media libraryTeam CollaborationWork closely with producers, designers, and creative team members throughout the production processProvide quality control for video projects and assist teammates when neededShare knowledge and best practices with other creatives, contractors, and volunteersAdditional Production SupportCapture photography when needed for events, ministries, and weekend servicesAssist with animation or motion graphics for sermon visuals when appropriateBe available to support occasional weekend filming needs across Mariners campusesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in film, media production, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).Ability to independently produce high-quality creative content from capture to final edit.Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and pacing.Experience filming in both field environments and studio settings.Comfortable in a Sony video workflow. (Sony: A7, FX9, PTZ camera ecosystem)Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Davinci Resolve.Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.Comfortable working in collaborative environments with producers and cross-functional teams.Strong problem-solving ability and calm execution in fast-paced production environments.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Curious, creative, and continually learning new techniques and workflows.Ability to align work with the voice and brand of Mariners Church.Emotional intelligence and spiritual discernment in working with ministry teams and stories.Additional InformationAll Mariners Church Staff:Love Jesus and call themselves Christians.Embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle.Agree to and adhere to the church's statement of faith, leadership commitment, and position papers.Work during Christmas Eve and Easter services.Participate then facilitate Rooted once per ministry year.Attend Mariners Church.We believe the total combination of your pay, benefits, and opportunities aligned with your calling will ensure that you and your family are provided for.
