Position Type:Student Support Services/Registered Behavior TechnicianDate Posted:2/24/2026Location:Recovery High SchoolJob Title: Recovery High School - Registered Behavior TechnicianTerms of Employment: 9-month contract; 183 daysFLSA Status: ExemptReports to: Principal and Director of Special ServicesBrief Description of Position: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will assist teachers, clinical staff, and administrators in implementing behavior plans specifically designed for high school students in recovery from substance use disorders. This role involves supervising students within the recovery-integrated classroom, implementing IEP/504 goals, and tracking data related to both academic engagement and social-emotional regulation. The RBT will follow up with all programming to ensure a safe and supportive environment that minimizes triggers and promotes healthy coping mechanisms.Required Qualifications:• Active Registered Behavior Technician Certification• High School Diploma• Ability to work with a broad spectrum of challenging behaviors, including impulsivity, emotional instability, and trauma-related reactions• Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills• Demonstrate skills in computer word processing, spreadsheets, and databasesDesired Qualifications:• Experience in working with youth exhibiting challenging behaviors or substance use disorders• Experience in a school-based or residential treatment setting• Relevant College Degree and Coursework in Psychology, Social Work, or Education• Training in Trauma-Informed Care and de-escalation techniquesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:• Work collaboratively with school and clinical staff to develop behavior plans that integrate academic goals with recovery support• Implementation of behavior plans with a focus on de-escalation and positive reinforcement of sober-living skills• Create appropriate data collection systems to track student progress, including behavioral triggers and emotional regulation milestones• Work collaboratively with school staff, outside recovery agencies, parents, and students to implement procedures developed for long-term sobriety and academic success• Provide training and coaching to teachers, administrators, and support staff on behavior plans, trauma-informed responses, and other evidence-based practices• Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and recovery-circle discussions as needed• Maintain strict confidentiality on student and staff issues• Stay current on best practices and research• All other duties as assigned.Attachment(s):2025-2026 Salary Schedule.pdfRHS Registered Behavior Technician Job Description.pdf
