Employees can also choose to contribute to a 403B plan with an additional district contribution.PurposeThe High School Activities Director administers and coordinates programs within the interscholastic athletics arena and other activity programs at the high school and middle school levels. General areas of responsibility include program and policy implementation, building-level budget and fiscal responsibilities, supervision and evaluation of all head coaches, reporting and rules compliance in the areas of sex equity and Montana High School Athletic Association (MHSA) participation rules, maintenance of educational records, and program evaluations to foster ongoing improvement of both extracurricular and curricular programs. The High School Activities Director actively promotes administrative, staff, and community awareness of the purposes, accomplishments, and needs of the school's activities programs, including interscholastic and intramural athletics, and involves parents and support groups in creative, positive support roles. The High School Activities Director reports directly to the high school principal.RequiredMaster's degree in Educational Administration or related fieldValid Montana Class III Administrative License (or ability to obtain)Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experienceEssential Job DutiesThe Activities Director leads, manages, and continuously improves all aspects of the school's activities and athletics programs by:Advancing a clear vision for student / community engagement and participationEnsuring equitable access and inclusive programmingMaintaining compliance with MHSA, Title IX, and district policiesDeveloping staff capacity and program qualityOverseeing operations, facilities, and fiscal managementRepresentative Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive vision for extracurricular and athletic programming aligned with district goals to increase student participationEvaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvement strategiesFoster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered activities cultureEnsure equitable access, participation, and resources for all studentsAdminister student discipline, and counseling of students as neededEnsure full compliance with MHSA, Title IX, and district policies for eligibility and participationMaintain accurate and complete program records, including participation, eligibility, and reporting requirementsRecruit, recommend for hire, supervise, and evaluate coaches, advisors, and activity staff in accordance with district guidelinesEstablish clear expectations for program leadership, safety, and student engagementOversee scheduling of all interscholastic competitions and extracurricular activitiesManage all aspects of event planning, including staffing, officials, security and logisticsEnsure safe, well-organized, and high-quality events for students and communityCoordinate use, scheduling, and maintenance of all activity facilities in collaboration with district personnelDevelop and manage the activities program budget in accordance with district guidelines; including purchasing, accounts, fee collection and fundraisingCommunicate effectively and appropriately with students, parents or guardians; District and school personnel; and other stakeholders to foster positive interactions and promote a positive educational climateRepresent the school at local, regional, and state meetings and eventsModel professionalism in appearance, respect, understanding, sensitivity and demeanorCarry out duties in accordance with federal and state laws, Code of Ethics and established state and local school board policies, regulations and practicesFulfill contractual obligations and assigned duties in a timely manner: and perform professionally and efficiently, other duties as assignedThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
