The Material Lead will be responsible for collaborating with construction counterparts, expediters, and suppliers to manage material planning and logistics. The Material Lead primary responsibility is to perform post expediting tasks in order to ensure purchased materials and engineered equipment meet project need-by dates and schedules per the Contract. The Material Lead will actively monitor the status of the orders and report delay early to project management to initiate mitigating actions. We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client’s specifications and expectations.LocationThis position will be based in Homer City, PAResponsibilitiesDevelop short‑ and long‑range material plans aligned with construction sequencing and milestonesCollaborate with procurement and expediting teams to support timely material receiving.Schedule and coordinate GE deliveries with onsite TFA.Obtain accurate Bill of Material from suppliers. Communicate required delivery dates to suppliers and vendorsCoordinate material deliveries to match jobsite readiness and storage locations.Contacts supplier frequently to obtain timely submission of engineering dataTo monitor supplier progress to ensure materials and equipment purchased is delivered on timeProactive surveillance of supplier progressRead and understand fabrication schedulesTo take the appropriate action with the supplier in the event of delaysParticipate in kick-off and progress meetingsCoordinate with the responsible engineering, buyers, inspectors, logistics and material controlQualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management5+ years’ experience in material planning, supply chain, procurement, expediting, construction operationsExperience supporting large-scale construction projectsGeneral understanding of all areas of procurement is desirable, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, and site purchasing.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and general knowledge of database utilizationHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative with strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
