Tactical Communications Specialist
Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview):Spry Methods is seeking a Tactical Communications Specialist with deep experience in Satellite Communications (SATCOM), C4 systems, and joint communications integration to support senior-level Marine Corps and DoD stakeholders. This role blends strategic planning, technical leadership, and policy coordination across Service, Joint, and interagency forums. The ideal candidate brings hands-on SATCOM expertise combined with the ability to represent customer equities at the enterprise and joint levels.What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):Serve as a senior SATCOM and telecommunications subject matter expert, supporting planning, integration, and execution of Marine Corps and Joint communications capabilitiesDevelop and interpret policies, strategies, and implementation plans for satellite communications services across tactical and enterprise environmentsRepresent customer interests in Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) activities, DISA forums, and other DoD governance and working groupsCoordinate Marine Corps participation in SATCOM-related working groups (e.g., DISA Teleport, Global NetOps, Joint network operations activities)Analyze and develop vetted positions on C4 and SATCOM issues; prepare senior leaders for governance boards, working groups, and executive-level briefingsMonitor acquisition programs and emerging technologies related to SATCOM, commercial bandwidth, and communications infrastructureConduct technical, fiscal, and programmatic analysis to inform policy decisions and long-range planningAuthor briefings, white papers, and decision support materials for senior DoD leadershipCollaborate with counterparts across the Services, Combatant Commands, OSD, and coalition partners to resolve interoperability and integration challengesWhat You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):Active SECRET ClearanceExtensive experience with SATCOM planning, operations, and integration in DoD or federal environmentsStrong working knowledge of MAGTF, Joint, and Service-level communications architecturesDemonstrated experience supporting or participating in JCIDS, DISA, or Joint governance forumsAbility to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for senior leadersProven ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple organizations and stakeholdersExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing at the O-6 / SES levelIdeally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):Prior experience supporting Headquarters Marine Corps, DC I / C4, or similar Service-level organizationsFamiliarity with DoD acquisition processes and satellite communications modernization effortsBackground in telecommunications policy, spectrum management, or commercial SATCOM integrationExperience in hybrid or telework-enabled environments supporting geographically distributed teams#CJWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
