Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides specialized perioperative care to surgical patients, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compassion throughout all phases of surgical procedures. They collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver efficient, patient-centered care that meets standards and promotes positive outcomes.Responsibilities:Assess patients' physical and emotional readiness for surgery, including comprehensive preoperative evaluations.Demonstrate competent clinical skills in support of patient care activities and emergency procedures.Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and progress, ensuring adherence to documentation guidelines.Uphold professional standards by following policies, identifying areas for professional growth, and demonstrating responsible practice.Promote patient and family satisfaction through courteous and professional communication while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.Follow safety protocols including the Universal Protocol, patient identification procedures, and proper transfer techniques to ensure a secure environment.Demonstrate knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, and equipment, individualizing patient care based on the procedure and anesthesia type.Assume responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing needs and responding to changes in patient condition.Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care, including pre- and post-op assessments.Support perioperative testing, evaluate test orders for appropriateness, and ensure timely completion of pre-admission testing.Qualifications:Active RN license and current BLS certification required.Minimum of 3 years of relevant perioperative nursing experience.Knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia types, and patient monitoring.Strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills.CNOR certification preferred.Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.Benefits & Growth:Opportunities for professional development and certification advancement.Supportive environment focused on quality patient care and teamwork.BenefitsDay 1 Medical, Dental, and Vision insuranceTravel reimbursement for assignmentsPaid sick leave and additional valuable benefitsAccess to our $1,000 Inspire a Friend Referral ProgramWhy TactStaff?Choosing TactStaff means partnering with a team that understands the unique demands and rewards of Operating Room.
