Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionAs an Advanced Electro-Optic Design Engineer, youll design, develop, build and test systems and products based on optic, photonic and laser technologies. This involves interacting with device, hardware and software design teams to assist in the overall development of optical systems; specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive optical components, developing and benchmarking system performance models, developing and implementing test procedures and evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation.What you bring to the table:Proven track record of electrical and optical design experienceSolid experience in the use of optical and electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theoriesStrong knowledge of telecommunication applications and electrical engineering design toolsAbility to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electro-optical engineering designExperience with optical and RF test and measurement equipment and laboratory toolsFamiliarity with one or more of the following: MATLAB, Lumerical, Zemax, VPI, Python, C/C++, LabViewWhat sets you apart:Ability to think creatively and multi-taskAbility to frequently contribute to the development of new optical theories and methodsOutstanding communication skillsLeadership and mentoring skills and experienceIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationSalary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
