This role exercises independent judgment and discretion in establishing standards, prioritizing initiatives, and driving operational improvements that significantly impact efficiency, cost structure, and product quality. The position serves as a key functional leader, partnering with operations and senior leadership to align quality and continuous improvement objectives with broader business goalsKey ResponsibilitiesProcess Analysis & Continuous ImprovementEvaluate and redesign manufacturing processes to eliminate inefficiencies and optimize performanceEstablish and drive adoption of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Just-In-Time productionLead continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events to enhance operational performanceDevelop organizational capabilities through training and coaching on lean and quality methodologies Leadership & Team ManagementDirectly supervise, coach, and develop team members, including performance management and hiring recommendationsFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Workflow Optimization & Cost ManagementDesign and optimize production workflows to improve throughput and reduce cycle timeBalance workloads across production lines to enhance efficiencyIdentify and implement cost-saving opportunities across materials, labor, and overheadOwn performance measurement and reporting of cost reduction initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial objectives Quality Planning & ControlDevelop and implement quality assurance plans, procedures, and standardsDefine product and process quality specificationsOversee quality control systems, including inspection protocols and testing methodologiesUtilize statistical methods and quality tools to detect, analyze, and resolve defects Root Cause Analysis & Corrective ActionsLead root cause analysis efforts and approve corrective and preventive action plansImplement and monitor corrective actions to address quality issuesMaintain accurate documentation of inspections, test results, and corrective actions Performance Monitoring & ReportingMonitor and analyze production and quality metrics to ensure performance targets are metPrepare and present reports on quality trends and operational performance to leadershipLead internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement Compliance & AuditsEnsure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policiesSupport and participate in internal and external audits and assessments Additional Responsibilities & MiscellaneousPerform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing and corporate objectives  QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or a related fieldProven experience in lean manufacturing and quality assurance within a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of lean methodologies and quality control toolsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skillsDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiativesStrong communication and training skillsBenefitsAt UDHG, we’re committed to supporting our employees both personally and professionally.
