Deputy County Clerk: Records Cashier/Floater

Job SummaryReporting directly to a County Clerk Division Supervisor or Coordinator, responsible for performing clerical duties that support the daily operations of the Williamson County Clerk's Office.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMEDProvides direct customer service in person, assisting citizens with walk-in requestsAnswers incoming calls for Department, directing calls to appropriate personnelOpens, sorts and processes mailMakes plain and certified copies for customers and public useReview documents for statutory requirementsCollects payments and is responsible for a tillPerforms data entry for legal documents such as real property documents, deeds of trust, affadavits, abstract of judgments and tax liensProcesses return letter for documents short on fees for recording, for wrong county, or other return reasonsConducts research for specific lien searchesEnsures comprehensive filing systems are maintained and up to dateEnters and verifies data within applicable databases and/or systemsCross-trains with office staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operationsCreates and maintains various reports related to assigned divisionCreates and maintains forms, worksheets, and informational materialsAttends all meetings and trainings, as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPSReports directly to - County Clerk Division Supervisor or CoordinatorDirect Reports - NoPHYSICAL DEMANDSPosition involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and lifting/carrying up to 30-40 lbsENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSWork is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environmentIRREGULAR HOURSWork outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be requiredMay be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergencyThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
