Director of Human Resources (part-time 80%)

Position OverviewTenacre Country Day School seeks an experienced and collaborative Director of Human Resources to oversee HR and payroll operations in partnership with the Director of Finance and the Controller. This role supports employees across the full employment lifecycle while ensuring effective, compliant, and people-centered systems and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead onboarding, offboarding, and employee supportOversee benefits administration, including open enrollment and vendor managementManage bi-weekly and monthly payroll, tax compliance, and reportingMaintain personnel records and HR policiesSupport leaves, accommodations, and time-off processesFoster a respectful and inclusive workplace cultureQualificationsBachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or HR certification preferredMinimum seven years of HR and payroll experienceExperience in schools or mission-driven organizations preferredFamiliarity with ADP Workforce Now and Blackbaud (Financial Edge NXT) is a plusSkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent organization and attention to detailSound judgment, discretion, and professionalismAbility to manage multiple priorities effectivelyCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $85,000 – $105,000, commensurate with experience.Tenacre Offers a Competitive Benefits Package That IncludesMedical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with employer contributionLife and disability insuranceGenerous paid time off and school holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesTuition assistance (where applicable)Minimum Qualifications And Physical RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
