Its schools have received 96 U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Awards.This highly visible position is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and strategic planning for the Special Events Department. The position requires a high degree of professionalism; vast experience in event management and the ability to manage multiple projects while motivating staff and volunteers.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate and manage all aspects of the fundraising Special Events at Old St. Patrick's Church; to include Siamsa na nGael, Shamrock'n, The Emerald , Deck The Hall, Broadway on Adams, Member Stewardship Events, other departmental activities as well as additional events as requested for Old St. Patrick's Church.Work in conjunction with the Chief Development Officer on budgets and fundraising goals.Assist in the development and management of the Special Events staff, to include establishing on-going meetings within the department and with other colleagues, as needed to successfully orchestrate events.Evaluate events to ensure they are relevant, evolve, and meet or exceed event goals.Create and implement event marketing and advertising strategiesOversee all event communications including public relations, website, social media, marketing collateral, media appearances and email communicationIdentify, solicit and execute corporate, foundation and individual sponsorships for events.Successfully nurture and manage volunteer leadership for each event.Provide on-going communication among volunteer leadership committees for events.Negotiate vendor contracts and manage vendor relationships including printing, security, production, equipment and staffingAssist with the solicitation of miscellaneous vendors and individuals for donations or contributions of various supplies needed for Special Events.Manage ticketing and donation systems for Special Events.Act as a resource for other Old St. Pat's departments with their special event plans.Help coordinate member stewardship events, such as fall appreciation, spring appreciation, Welcome Events.QualificationsMinimum of three to five years of event planning, development or related experience.Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications required.Highly organized, detail-oriented, skillful at establishing priorities, high degree of professionalism, discretion and self-motivation.Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.Experience working with volunteers preferred.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
