General SummaryThe Emergency Department Crisis Team Clinician is part of a hospital based crisis intervention team. He/She will provide psychiatric crisis services at CVPH’s Emergency Department. He/She will be responsible for coordinating phone referrals for admission, conducting Emergency Department evaluations and serving as a liaison within the Emergency Department and community agencies for patients with psychiatric difficulties. These responsibilities will be carried out as part of a crisis team approach under the direction of the Medical Director and Director of the Emergency Department. He/She will facilitate communication and movement of patient between services in the hospital, outside agencies and CVPH Mental Health Unit.Qualifications Master’s Degree in psychology or counseling. At least one-year experience as a clinician in a psychiatric hospital or mental health unit preferred. At least one year’s experience in outpatient or inpatient mental health evaluation and treatment preferably involving crisis evaluations. Experience in alcohol/drug related counseling preferred. Meets requirements of physical / pre-placement screening.
