Production Supervisor (2nd shift, M-F)
Our food production client, located in Central Indiana, is actively seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising production employees in a processing environment and ensuring that established daily production and quality targets are achieved. The Production Supervisor will utilize their skill, experience, and decision-making ability to ensure product through the department meets company, customer, and government specifications. This position reports to the department Superintendent.2nd Shift Production Supervisor Responsibilities:Lead the activities of the team members in the production of quality products in accordance with established and accepted company criteriaImplement and maintain safety standards throughout his/her area of responsibility as required by law and company policyDirect and implement job-related training for all team members in his/her department while ensuring company job rotation minimums are metUtilize strong communication skills to properly coach and guide team members to resolve employee issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented and followedCreate and foster a high morale workplace with the highest ethical standards by treating all team members with dignity and respectManage the completion of production schedules as determined by the superintendentEnsure all proper processing procedures (quality, safety, etc.) are adhered to and not compromisedEnsure the appropriate level of discipline and accountability for team members while in pursuit of company and or customer-established goalsMonitor and make appropriate, timely improvement actions necessary to meet production quality and quantity goalsUtilize problem-solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, and process control tools to efficiently meet or exceed the production scheduleFacilitate workflow management, workforce scheduling, and placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met or exceededConduct, lead, or implement the appropriate process audits; the audits will identify the need for the appropriate containment, corrective, and preventive actions, leading to minimizing or eliminating process deviations and non-conforming product root causesMaintain team member compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping through the application of fair and consistent accountability methodsWork with other supervisors daily to ensure the facility is operating to the highest level of efficiencyAssist with pre-operation activities as directed2nd Shift Production Supervisor Qualifications: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is requiredMinimum of 2+ years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment, meat processing preferredKnowledge of USDA and HACCP proceduresAbility to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environmentsGood computer literacy skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word) and the ability to write clear and concise reportsCommitment to follow safety policies and practices and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Uphold company policies and ethical standardsGood leadership, employee-oriented, motivational skills, and results-drivenStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsCompensation:Base salary range is $72,000-$85,000/year, depending on experience, plus bonus potentialContact:Call Jenny Sochocki at 317-678-0120 or https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenny-sochocki-250a81224/ or submit a resume to jenny@mriz.net
