DescriptionBecome part of an inclusive organization with over 40,000 teammates, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of the unique communities we serve.Summary:This position qualifies for our Incentive Program, which includes $10,000 in commitment incentives paid over two years.For more information:pages/incentive-programsUNC Hospitals Department of Audiology is seeking a full-time Clinical Audiologist to provide outpatient services primarily for the adult patient population across multiple locations, including:Orange County: UNC Hospitals Hearing & Voice Clinic at Carolina CrossingChatham County: UNC Hospitals Audiology at PittsboroWake County: UNC Audiology Services at CaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced audiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services in a busy ENT clinic setting. The role will focus on the assessment and management of hearing loss, including evaluation, fitting, and programming of hearing aids and cochlear implants.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform basic and advanced diagnostic audiologic evaluations across the lifespanInterpret and analyze test results to develop patient-centered treatment plansCounsel patients and families on hearing loss, its impact, and management strategiesManage the ongoing needs of hearing aid and cochlear implant users, including programming, troubleshooting, and follow-up careConduct verification of hearing aid fittings using best-practice technologyAdminister comprehensive cochlear implant evaluations, including aided speech perception testing, and determine candidacy for implantable hearing technologiesCounsel patients on implantable technology options, function, and realistic expectationsPerform diagnostic testing for cochlear implant devices in both clinical and OR settingsProgram and manage all available implantable devices in the adult populationQualificationsDoctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) requiredCurrent North Carolina Audiology license (or eligibility for licensure) requiredMinimum of one year of experience in an academic medical center working collaboratively with otolaryngologists and related professionals preferredExperience with student supervision and clinical teaching preferredThis is a full-time (40 hours/week), daytime position. This includes listening, sales, and problem solving skills. Strong keyboard/computer/Audiology diagnostic and hearing aid software and equipment experience. Must be able to organize time and prioritize numerous duties.
