Lead Teacher/Assistant Director

Creche Day School seeks a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher/Assistant Director who thrives in a collaborative environment and loves working with young children. As a Lead Teacher/Assistant Director you will create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum while fostering strong relationships with children and their families, and you'll play a crucial role in supporting our school's daily operations, managing essential data, and fostering positive family communications. Key Responsibilities: Child Engagement: Meet each child at their developmental level, incorporating play and hands-on activities into daily routines. Curriculum Planning: Design and execute weekly lesson plans aligned with children’s developmental needs and NAEYC Accreditation Standards. Classroom Coordination: Work with co-teachers to develop and prepare classroom lessons and ensure effective use of classroom resources. Learning Through Play: Encourage and facilitate children’s learning through developmentally appropriate play. Professional Interaction: Engage in meaningful conversations with parents, team members, and children to support and enhance their educational experience. Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitary classroom environment, adhering to state ratios and guidelines. Operational Support: Anticipate and address the needs of the Administration in overseeing daily operations and providing support where necessary. Qualifications: Early Childhood Experience: Two or more years of experience working with early childhood-age children. Leadership Experience: Minimum of one year of prior leadership experience. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with families, children, and team members. Communication Skills: High level of oral and written communication skills. Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Problem-Solving: Effective problem analysis and communication with administration. Flexibility: Ability to work regular office hours with some flexibility. Education Requirements: ONE or more of the following: Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, or a related field; OR Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate plus two years of teaching experience in a licensed child center or preschool; OR At least 24 hours of academic college credit in Early Childhood or Education-related studies and three months of experience in a licensed preschool or childcare center.
