The Automation Technician will install, configure, and maintain automation and control systems, including PLCs, and SCADA equipment in industrial environments. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of electrical and automation components. The role involves collaborating with engineers and other technicians to support system upgrades, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Automation Technician will also assist with testing, commissioning, and ongoing support of automation projects in the Energy and Water Management sectors.QualificationsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.Experience with automation equipment, including installation, configuration, and basic programming or setup.Working knowledge of electricity and industrial electrical systems, with an emphasis on safety and compliance with relevant standards.Ability to perform preventive maintenance on automation and electrical systems to minimize downtime.Familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, and industrial control systems is highly beneficial.Relevant technical diploma, certification, or associate degree in industrial automation, electronics, or a related field preferred.Comfortable working in industrial environments and following safety procedures and regulations.Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.
