With its own test track and engineering curriculum, Hennessey Performance is recognized as one of the leading specialist vehicle engineering companies focused on “making fast cars faster.”Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role located in Sealy, TX, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management and reporting for Hennessey Performance. This role manages the general ledger, prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensures accurate recording of revenue, expenses, and inventory. The Controller oversees budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning, providing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Day-to-day tasks include managing the accounting team, supervising accounts payable and receivable, maintaining internal controls, coordinating audits, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant tax regulations. The Controller also partners with leadership to develop and refine financial policies, support ERP and system improvements, and provide timely financial insights to drive business performance.QualificationsStrong financial accounting and reporting skills, including experience with general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and GAAP compliance.Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.Experience with cash flow management, cost accounting, and inventory and project-based accounting in a manufacturing or automotive environment.Skill in implementing and maintaining internal controls, audit readiness, and risk management practices.Advanced knowledge of accounting and ERP software, spreadsheets, and financial modeling tools.Demonstrated leadership abilities, including managing and developing accounting teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial partners.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.ERP integration experience is a plus.Audit experience is preferred.
