Diesel Mechanic

If this sounds like you, start your application today!We are looking for a mechanic to work day shift from Monday - Friday:ResponsibilitiesDiagnose issues with semi-tractors using a computer and performing PM services and minor repairs to our mostly Detroit engine fleetConduct repairs and replacements of faulty or worn-out parts, such as brakes, transmissions, engines, and cooling systemsUse diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical problemsPerform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the truck fleetCollaborate with other mechanics and team members to efficiently complete repair jobsKeep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performedAdhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work areaStay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in diesel truck maintenanceSource and remediate mechanical problems and malfunction codes that are identified in the vehicle's mechanical systems, electrical system, and electronic systemsEngaging in learning opportunities to update job knowledge and technical skillsTeam up with managers and other mechanics to diagnose and service cars coming in for auto repairsInspect, test drive, and perform diagnostic tests to determine vehicle problems, parts needed for repairs, and necessary workEncourage and facilitate preventive maintenance work such as oil changes, air conditioning service, flushing, brake replacement, tire rotation, and moreMaintain accurate customer records for vehicles repairs, parts, maintenance histories, and moreQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent requiredAn associate's degree from a vocational or technical school and/or ASE certification are a plusMust be an effective communicator who maintains a solid work ethicStrong manual dexterity and proficiency with hand tools and other repair shop equipment is necessaryA valid drivers license is necessaryAbout Sugar Creek TransportationWere Sugar Creek Transportation, based in Southern California, and weve been serving the transportation industry since 2014.
