Developmental Support Worker (Windsor)

Position Overview A&O Care Solutions Inc. is looking for a Developmental Support Worker that is committed to supporting children and youth in the Urgent Response Service (URS) to assist them reach their objectives. Qualifications College Diploma or a University Degree in Developmental Services, Behavioral Science, Psychology, Criminology Current Safe Management Training (SMG) and Crisis Intervention training (CIT/CPI) is required. Experience working with children and youth with developmental disability and behavioural challenges. Experience working in a home setting. Uphold a great degree of attention, empathy, and dedication. Carry out skill acquisition programs, individual behavioural protocols, facility-wide behavioural programs, and appropriate documentation completion. Have a working knowledge of task analysis, prompt fading, and behaviour function identification. Ability to work with individuals from all backgrounds. Ability to work with a team. Excellent verbal and writing skills. Self-driven and enthusiastic; open to acquiring and using new skills. Available to work a rotating schedule. Current First‐Aid and CPR certification. Valid driver's licence and a good driving record. Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months. Duties and Responsibilities Complete all daily documentation requirements, including clinical documentation, behavioural data, checklists, and incident reports. Model appropriate behaviour. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, providing physical support, and participating in leisure, work, and physical activities. Adhere to and carry out behaviour support plans. Implement behavior management strategies based on behaviour support plans. Engage with visitors and family members of residents both within the institution and during home visits. Maintain rapport with clients and family. Advocate for clients' needs. Foster an encouraging atmosphere to help clients reach their full potential. Provide clients experiencing a crisis with rapid response. Communicate with team members as needed.
