Description=========The Nurse Manager assesses, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical and operational functions of a nursing unit to ensure quality, cost-effective healthcare delivered by an educated and competent team. The role promotes a safe environment and ensures all related job responsibilities are performed in compliance with professional and clinical standards appropriate to patient age, developmental stages, and special needs.Skills====Demonstrates and supports a Professional Practice model that fosters collaboration with interdisciplinary partners to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.Ensures staff operations comply with Nursing Practice Act, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.Leads the team to accomplish goals aligned with organizational objectives, including quality management, patient care, and departmental standards.Assumes responsibility for recruitment, orientation, education, and ongoing development of personnel through structured programs.Promotes shared governance and professional growth to positively impact clinical outcomes.Performs nursing interventions and patient care as necessary.Provides effective communication with patients and families.Oversees financial performance of the unit, ensuring cost-effective operations.Assists in policy development and adherence to professional standards.Maintains accountability for budgetary oversight and staff performance.Education========Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; current RN license required.Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred; MSN completion required if undergraduate degree is not BSN.Enrollment in MSN program within 5 years of hire if undergraduate degree is BSN.Master s degree from a healthcare-related program or MBA acceptable.Previous management experience preferred.BLS required prior to clinical duties.Leadership certification required within 1 year of eligibility.
