GA DHS - System / Quality Assurance Tester Qualifications and Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in related field AND Five (5) years of experience in Information Technology testing, quality assurance and the performance of change management functions, three (3) years of which must have been attained in a cross-platform Information Technology development environment.Demonstrated knowledge of testing methodology and practicesWorking knowledge of relevant operating systems and software development fundamentalsHands-on experience with automated test toolsBasic knowledge of SQLStrong process and gap analysis skillsAbility to interpret test cases for high-level and functional processesGood understanding of the system test life cycle, the review process, and test case documentationTest automation tools such as Leapwork or Selenium.Ability to document and troubleshoot errorsExperience with tracking tools (ex: Service Now).Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience with agile, waterfall, and scrum methodologies.Job DutiesCreate and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reportsDesign detailed test cases based on software requirements and specifications to ensure comprehensive coveragePerform manual and automated tests, using various tools and techniques to verify software functionalityIdentify, document, and report software defects, including severity, priority, and steps to reproduceAnalyze test results to assess quality, identify areas for improvement, and determine if the software meets requirementsCommunicate test results, findings, and recommendations to development teams and other stakeholders, and collaborate on defect resolutionParticipate in project planning, estimation, and scheduling.Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.Preferred QualificationsFive (5) years of experience with QA testing and script writing.Good understanding of the system test life cycle, review process, and test case documentation.Ability to thoroughly document and troubleshoot errors.Well versed with Agile, Scrum, waterfall methodologies.Good team and critical thinking skills.Keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Intermediate level knowledge of MS Excel and ServiceNow.
