Utility Locate Technician

Responsibilities: - Conduct utility line locating activities to identify and mark underground utilities - Use various tools and equipment such as cable locators, ground-penetrating radar, and electromagnetic devices - Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and drawings to accurately locate utility lines - Communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate utility line identification - Follow safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment - Document and report findings, including any damages or discrepancies encountered during the locating process Qualifications: - Previous experience in field service or as a service technician is preferred - Knowledge of utility locating techniques and equipment operation - Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting maps and drawings - Familiarity with land surveying principles is a plus - Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and backhoes may be required - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Skills: - Blueprint reading - Field service - Service technician - Forklift operation - Backhoe operation - Land surveying principles - Utility locating techniques - Cabling knowledge Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
