Talented Architectural Designer Raumfabrik architecture + interiors is seeking an architectural designer to join our team! We are a small and growing architecture and interior design firm based in Berkeley specializing in new custom homes, additions and remodels in the greater Bay Area. Our approach is client-focused and collaborative and we thrive to create spaces that will stand the test of time and be loved for generations to come. We are expanding to keep up with demand and looking for a talented designer to join our team. Fluent in english: written & verbal Valid US work permit – we are not able to sponsor visa applications at this time Must be based within reliable daily commuting distance (this is not a remote position) Proficiency in Revit or able to become proficient within 30 daysPreferred Qualifications:Relevant work experience in the field of residential designStrong knowledge of the California Building Code, Residential building code and typical wood frame construction detailsInterested in interior design, with or without interior design degreeConstruction experienceProficiency in VectorworksDrivers license + reliable transportation Key responsibilities:On site measuring and field documentation Researching and interpreting applicable zoning and building codes Programming and conceptual designSchematic presentation drawings including 3D renderingsCommunication and coordination with consultantsCommunication and coordination with planning and building department officialsPreparing complete sets of construction documents Permit preparation and submittalSpecifying materials, fixtures and finishes Attending site visits and client meetings – communicating with contractors and consultants.Raumfabrik typically manages 25–30 active projects at any given time. In this role, you will participate in up to 50% of projects across various phases, working closely with the Principal Architect.
