Senior Accountant

Overview:This position partners closely with the Controller to oversee core accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Responsibilities include managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, leading month-end and year-end close activities, supporting audits, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The role also involves developing financial models, preparing management reports, maintaining compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, supporting tax-related activities, and driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls. Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.Responsibilities:General Ledger & Reconciliations: Maintain and oversee the general ledger, complete detailed account and bank reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions.Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Audit & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare supporting schedules and documentation, and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with the Controller and CFO to support the preparation, analysis, and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.Financial Modeling & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate operational and financial performance, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Management Reporting: Create financial reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for senior leadership, including key insights and commentary.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency through automation and process enhancements.Tax Support: Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including federal, state, local, and payroll tax filings.Special Projects: Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, MBA and/or CPA a plusMaster's degree preferred.Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Accounting experience within a manufacturing organization.Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting tools preferred.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
