This partnership is designed to support long-term value creation, operational excellence, and scalable expansion – both organically and through strategic M&A – while preserving the company’s core culture and customer-first approach.About the RoleThe Controller will serve as a key financial leader within the organization, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will play a critical role in building a best-in-class finance function capable of supporting a growing, operationally complex business. Reporting directly to Co-CEO’s (investors), the Controller will partner closely with leadership to enhance financial visibility, improve processes, and ensure the company is positioned for sustainable growth.ResponsibilitiesLead all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assetsManage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingDevelop and maintain GAAP compliant financial statements and supporting schedulesStrengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to support the organizationPartner with leadership to build budgets, forecasts, and variance analysesSupport strategic decision-making through financial insights and operational analyticsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and lenders as neededAssist in cash flow management, working capital optimization, and banking relationshipsDrive process improvements and system enhancements QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership rolesExperience in manufacturing, industrial services, or project-based environments preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements, including hands-on experience standing up or cleaning up GAAP accounting in a newly acquired, sub-scale, or previously cash-basis environmentProven ability to improve processes and implement scalable systemsExperience working in or with private equity-backed, search fund, or investor-supported businesses is a plus strongly preferred; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, post-acquisition environment with investor-level reporting rigorHands-on experience with QuickBooks (desktop and/or online) and leading ERP or accounting-system migrationsHands-on, roll up your sleeves mentality with strong attention to detailExcellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally Preferred SkillsExperience in manufacturing, industrial services, or project-based environmentsExperience working in or with private equity-backed, search fund, or investor-supported businessesHands-on experience with QuickBooks and leading ERP or accounting-system migrations
