Lighthouse Youth & Family Services has Youth Worker positions available at our Mecum House location. Mecum House a homeless shelter for 10 to 17 year-old who have nowhere else to turn. There is always someone to listen and offer support. The doors are always open, and we provide a safety and care for young people who don't feel safe in their own homes or don't have a place to call home. No youth are ever turned away.
Starting Hourly Rate: $15.00
Current Shift Openings
PT Sunday through Wednesday 6 am to 2 pm
PT Thursday through Saturday 6 am to 2 pm
Essential Functions:
Provide direct care, supervision, crisis interventions and documentation of daily activities.
Prepare meals, facilitate group sessions, and outings, provide security, observation, housekeeping, prepare medication completing intakes, shift paperwork and other duties as assigned.
Provide direct supervision of youth and facility throughout the work shift.
Supervise activities, chores, hygiene, and bedtimes times by following program schedule.
Assist team by completing paperwork related to program outcomes. Document any significant events that occur during the shift in a daily log, service ticket and/or progress note.
Participate in the on-call schedule rotation.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required.
At least 6 months of experience working with youth required. Experience working with youth in a residential setting preferred.
Valid driver's license and good driving record with ability to operate a 15-passenger van to transport youth as needed.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual and/or Sign Language proficiency a plus.
