Technical Project Manager

Technical Project Manager — San Diego, CA Overview Point Predictive is redefining fraud detection and risk decisioning for lenders through large-scale consortium data, machine learning, and real-time systems. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager who supports model delivery and customer-facing applications across financial institutions. In this role, you will own Agile delivery practices, sprint planning, backlog organization, project tracking, and cross-functional coordination. You will work closely with technical and business leaders to translate priorities into clear plans, establish realistic timelines, remove blockers, and maintain accountability through production delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with disciplined execution—a proactive operator who brings structure to complex work while protecting engineering focus and avoiding unnecessary process. Responsibilities Serve as Scrum Master for engineering teams, leading sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives Own Jira organization and delivery tracking, ensuring priorities, requirements, owners, estimates, dependencies, and acceptance criteria are clearly defined Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to improve project scoping, capacity planning, prioritization, and delivery predictability Lead technical projects from initial planning through development, testing, deployment, and post-production follow-up Coordinate product releases, customer integrations, model deployments, data initiatives, and infrastructure improvements across teams Identify blockers, dependencies, risks, and scope changes early, driving resolution and escalating when necessary Provide clear project updates covering progress, timelines, risks, decisions, and required actions Improve and automate project-management, reporting, and development workflows while protecting focused engineering time Use AI-assisted tools to improve planning, documentation, meeting follow-up, and execution efficiency Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Technical Project Manager, or similar role within a software, data, or technology organization Strong experience leading Agile ceremonies, managing technical backlogs, and improving sprint execution Advanced experience with Jira and working knowledge of the software development lifecycle Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional technical projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders Ability to understand technical systems, ask informed questions, and communicate effectively with engineers and business leaders Excellent organization, problem-solving, risk-management, and written and verbal communication skills High level of ownership, accountability, urgency, and attention to detail Experience in financial services, lending, fraud detection, data platforms, or machine-learning products is a plus What Success Looks Like Engineering teams operate with organized backlogs, effective Agile ceremonies, and realistic sprint commitments Jira provides an accurate view of priorities, ownership, project status, dependencies, and remaining work Blockers and delivery risks are identified early and resolved proactively Technical projects and releases are delivered with clear scope, strong coordination, and predictable execution Leadership receives concise, reliable visibility into project health and decisions requiring attention Processes improve delivery without adding unnecessary meetings or administrative burden Why This Role Help drive the execution behind the data and technology that powers real-time fraud and risk decisions for lenders.
