Schows Truck Center is looking for a JourneymanDiesel Technician to join our Heyburn, ID team. As a Diesel ServiceTechnician, you will be essential in diagnosing and repairing variousdiesel engines and heavy equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other duties may be assigned.**\Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy,in accordance with dealership and factory standards\Diagnoses cause of most malfunctions and performs repair; reportsdefects or malfunctions to service writer or manager.\Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanicalproblems\Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checkingfluid levels, and rotating tires\Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools andmanuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition asthey were received.\Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.\Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals,technical procedures, or governmental regulations.\Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.\Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concretevariables in situations where only limited standardization exists.QUALIFICATIONS**:\Five (5) years heavy duty diesel technician experience.\Basic computer knowledge with good communication skills.\Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and drivingrecord investigation.\Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**\Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach and handle tools.\Occasionally requires the ability to lift 75 pounds.\Frequently required to walk to all areas of the facility, both indoorsand outdoors.\Frequently required to walk in or around environments where customersconduct their business.WORK ENVIRONMENT:**\While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyexposed to moving mechanical parts.\The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions;high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or causticchemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration.\The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
