The company is committed to protecting client interests, operating with integrity and accountability, and engineering building systems that deliver comfort, safety, and efficiency.Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Orlando, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm’s accounting and financial operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the general ledger, supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and maintaining accurate project and cost accounting records. The Controller will develop and monitor budgets, support forecasting and cash flow management, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls. This role partners closely with leadership and project managers to provide financial analysis, support strategic decision-making, and optimize financial processes. The Controller also leads and mentors a small accounting team, implements system improvements, and coordinates with external auditors and financial partners as needed.Qualifications Robust financial accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and period-end closing.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning and project profitability.Knowledge of cost accounting, project accounting, and job costing, preferably within engineering, construction, or professional services environments.Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and compliance with GAAP and relevant tax regulations.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., ERP or project-based systems) and advanced Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.Ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and firm leadership.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.Experience in an engineering, architectural, or construction-related firm is highly beneficial.
