Engineering Supervisor📍 Location: Morgan Hill, CA (Onsite)💲 Salary: Up to $140,000 (based on experience)🏢 Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-TimePosition OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Engineering Supervisor to lead wire harness engineering activities while remaining actively involved in design, quoting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a player/coach role requiring strong technical depth, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate directly with customers and internal teams. The Engineering Supervisor will drive manufacturable solutions, support NPI efforts, and ensure engineering excellence through metrics-driven performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop an engineering team focused on wire harness design, tooling, process development, and production supportServe as the primary technical liaison with customers for design reviews, feasibility discussions, and issue resolutionPartner with the Quoting team to support new business wins and manage NPI for awarded programsOversee harness drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and engineering documentation for accuracy and completenessDrive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance manufacturabilitySupport PPAP submissions, validations, documentation, and customer approvals for new programsTroubleshoot production issues and lead root cause / corrective action activitiesManage engineering change requests and ensure timely implementationCollaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teamsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred)5–7+ years of experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturingMinimum 2 years in an engineering leadership or supervisory roleStrong experience supporting quoting and estimating activitiesProficiency with Zuken E3, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks ElectricalFamiliarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL, SAE, or MIL-SPEC standardsWorking knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and engineering change controlPreferred ExperienceHigh-mix, custom manufacturing environmentPrivate equity-backed or high-growth manufacturing organizationsLean, Six Sigma, PMP, or similar certificationsBackground in cost modeling and value engineeringWhy Join Our ClientCareer Growth: Fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with advancement opportunitiesLeadership Exposure: Direct interaction with executive leadershipImmediate Impact: Lean organization where decisions move quickly and contributions matter
