Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical (MS RN)Location: Watertown, NYPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong Med/Surg and Coronary Care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the flexibility to float between Med/Surg and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings as needed.This position is best suited for experienced travelers who thrive in fast-paced hospital environments and are comfortable caring for a diverse patient population.Schedule & Assignment DetailsNight Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM12-hour shifts13-week assignmentWeekend, holiday, and call requirements applyKey ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to Medical/Surgical and PCU patientsAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plansMonitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changesAdminister medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policiesCollaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient careMaintain accurate and timely patient documentationEducate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructionsMay be required to function in a charge nurse capacity as neededRequirementsExperiencePrevious hospital RN experience preferredCoronary Care experience requiredTraveler must have completed at least one successful travel assignmentFirst-time travelers will not be consideredMust be comfortable floating between Med/Surg and PCU unitsEducation & LicensureGraduate of an accredited School of NursingCurrent New York RN license requiredBLS certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hireSkills & QualificationsStrong knowledge of nursing principles and patient care practicesAbility to assess patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in high-stress situationsExcellent leadership, prioritization, and delegation abilitiesStrong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to recognize and address patient and staff safety concerns, including safe patient handling techniques
