Connectivity / Installation Specialist
This is a technical position and is responsible for the setup of equipment to performing of both remote and onsite client installations, connecting devices to client network environments. The specialist will work with client IT on the set-up of print, scanning and other utility functions and product features. The specialist will perform end-user product training. Specialist is responsible for responding to client technical requests diagnosing and resolving technical hardware and software issues as related to a network environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*
· Performs in-shop set-up and assembly of equipment according to manufacturer specifications and company best practices as directed.
· Tests equipment and all features assembled prior to delivery and then properly wraps equipment and stores.
· Introduces self and meets with key client staff regarding onsite duties.
· Test all functions and applications prior to leaving client to ensure newly installed equipment operates to client expectations.
· Responds to requests for Technical Assistance.
· Provides research on product features and user training.
· Accesses software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ’s resources to help assist with end user issues.
· Performs on-site client installations and connectivity to client network environment and equipment removals.
· Accurately completes all documentation at time of action, electronic or hard paperwork, such as but not limited to work orders, set-up sheets, delivery forms, meter readings, sales orders, etc. and returns daily.
· Communicates post-installation information and status to Manager and to Sales.
· Attends required company and departmental meetings.
· Acts in accordance with Budget Document Technology policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Works cooperatively with field service technicians, sales department and administrative staff.
· Maintains or builds customer satisfaction by resolving issues.
· Performs other special projects or related duties as required
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:
· Post High School technical training.
· At least 6 months’ experience on a Help Desk in a similar office equipment environment.
· A strong aptitude for problem-solving.
· Strong client-facing and communication skills.
· Advanced trouble shooting and multi-tasking skills.
· Strong Customer Service orientation.
· The ability to operate under stress, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and work in a team atmosphere.
· The ability to learn, grasp, retain and apply a variety of system, network and security related concepts, information and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical effort required; seated duties with the freedom of movement on a regular basis, handling of light materials and supplies, ability to lift (100lbs), rolling, pulling, pushing of equipment. May spend extended periods at a computer terminal or on telephone, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Travel offsite required. Performs delivery and installations at client sites, requiring a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Requires constant lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling and bending throughout workday.
