Hurst Electric is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the DFW Metroplex. This role combines electrical engineering, project coordination, and construction management while working closely with field leadership, estimators, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
Experience with commercial and industrial electrical systems, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to support projects from design through completion are highly valued. Responsibilities
Support and coordinate commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from planning through completion
Assist with low- and medium-voltage electrical system design and construction coordination
Prepare, review, and manage electrical drawings, schematics, submittals, RFIs, and construction documents
Support project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities
Track project progress and assist with progress billing reports
Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, vendors, clients, and field teams
Serve as a point of contact for project communication and issue resolution
Work closely with construction field leadership to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field coordination activities
Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, ConEst, and related software to support engineering and project documentation
Ensure work aligns with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and project specifications
Participate in estimating, proposal development, procurement, and preconstruction planning as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field preferred but not required
Equivalent electrical construction industry experience may also be considered
Knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems
Familiarity with low- and medium-voltage electrical systems
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, ConEst, or related design and construction software preferred
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
FE/EIT certification or pursuit of licensure is a plus, assistance program for PE offered.
