Machine Operator
Job Description
(Brookshire, TX): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Machine Operator with 1–2 years of experience to support fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will be able to operate an overhead crane, read a tape measure, interpret prints and dimensional drawings, and operate multiple machines with similar programs. Previous experience operating similar machinery is preferred. Essential Duties:
• Operate heavy fabrication machinery, including Drill Line, Angle Master, Big Saw, Plasma Cutter, and Plate Cutter.
• Load and off-load materials using an overhead crane.
• Measure and cut materials to predetermined lengths.
• Read tape measures to determine material widths and thicknesses.
• Interpret prints and dimensional drawings.
• Operate multiple machines with similar programs or software.
• Provide machine diagnostics and troubleshooting, including basic programming.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and follow established safety procedures.
• Maintain material control and complete required cut-list documentation.
• Maintain good housekeeping and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager. Requirements/Skills:
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of relevant machine operation experience.
• Previous experience operating similar machines preferred.
• Able to operate an overhead crane.
• Able to read a tape measure for material widths and thicknesses.
• Able to interpret prints and dimensional drawings.
• Able to provide machine diagnostics and troubleshooting, including basic programming.
• Able to operate multiple machines with similar programs.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate Windows-based systems.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to understand and follow safety policies and procedures. Physical Requirements:
• Work is performed primarily in a fabrication shop environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform activities involving walking, climbing, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull materials weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to work around typical fabrication-shop hazards, including high noise levels, welding fumes, arc flash, debris, and grinding-related hazards. Equal Opportunity Statement:
