Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have a safety first mindset with the ability to work within various teams, along with a good eye to spot defects in the work performed. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading a Team of production employees using multiple manufacturing lines to produce wooden reels for the cable and wire industry.Collaborating closely with other departments and teamsMaking incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured productConsistently providing expected deliverables and required administrative tasksDriving and inspiring team to improve performance to meet and exceed goalsCritical thinking and troubleshooting skills to setup new jobs and operate various manufacturing machines is very importantMaintaining a safe, clean and organized work area, Familiarity with 5S a plus.Performing all duties as designated by plant manager and in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies Assisting other departments as neededHas a company and quality mindsetJob Requirements5 years prior manufacturing experience preferred.Previous leadership experience in manufacturing leading a crew/ team required.Ability to lead by example and hold reports accountable.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be able to do basic production related computations.Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.Ability to demonstrate integrity in relation to safety, quality and customer serviceYou will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions and specification sheetsPossess a Mechanical Aptitude with the ability to logically troubleshoot and solve machine issuesAn understanding of Continuous Improvement Methodology and experience with continuous improvement toolsDemonstrated the ability to identify opportunities and lead improvementsMust have Knowledge of Computer Based Programs – Word, Excel, Power PointYou will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as neededWe care about the health and wellness of you and your family.
