LABORER (Park/Cemetery Section) Part-Time

PART-TIME LABORER(Park/Cemetery Section)The City of Cedar Falls Operations and Maintenance Division is accepting application materials for a year-round (up to 29 hrs./wk.) Laborer with primary assignment to the Park and Cemetery Section but will be utilized throughout the Division as needed. Typical hours will range from 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Mon-Fri. with an occasional Saturday. The hourly pay rate is $19.115 and approved union contract and step pay increases will apply. Part-time benefits include pro-rated holidays, vacation, and bereavement, tuition reimbursement, wellness, and retirement plans. Position is a semi-skilled, labor position requiring physical strength & endurance for duties primarily related to construction or maintenance within city parks or cemeteries. Duties related to arboricultural needs, mowing/yard work, or related operations may also be assigned. Individuals must have a high school diploma, or equivalent; valid driver's license, good driving record, and as applicable, be 18 years old for DOT licensing; and possession of (or the ability to obtain & maintain) the appropriate Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement within six months of employment. The individual selected is also subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse queries, driver's license and driving record reviews, and DOT random drug and alcohol screenings. Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen are also required for the selected individual.
