Position Type:Early Childhood/Early ChildhoodDate Posted:5/28/2026Location:Crockett Early Head StartDate Available:07/20/2026Primary Purpose:To assist families toward self-sufficiency, the Family and Community Partnerships Coordinator develop, implements, and supervise the family services and parent involvement services for Head Start. The Family and Community Partnerships Coordinator will facilitate and develop the links between the Head Start program, community services, and the family.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Master's Degree preferred; Bachelor Degree; successful experience in human services related field; fluency in Spanish and other languages spoken by families in the program is preferred.Performance Responsibilities and Duties:Performance Responsibilities:Facilitate the development, organization, implementation, monitoring, and compliance of the Family and Community Partnerships plan (including family services and parent involvement area).Serve as leader of the Family and Community Partnerships team. Supervise and evaluate Master Family Advocate, Family Service Advocates.Implement and monitor a planned parent involvement and volunteer program to include experiences and activities that enhance the parental role of being primary educators of their child(ren) and foster shared program governance.Supervise and monitor assessment and referral services for HS families to assure support in financial, educational, physical, and mental wellness.Monitor the evaluation of family support systems, making of appropriate referrals, and provision of follow-up services for identified needs (i.e. shelter, education, food, clothes, medical, etc.)Monitor the Family Services staff as they work in cooperation with families and staff in developing, implementing, reviewing, and updating the Family Partnership Agreement.Work closely with staff in assuring that information regarding children and families is shared in an appropriate and confidential manner.Interpret and maintain compliance with all federal performance standards relating to Family and Community Partnerships, and all other licensing or funding agency requirements.Assure the accurate documentation, tracking, and reporting of services and follow-up services to families.Support families in their steps toward self-sufficiency in a non-judgmental way.11. Make family home visits as necessary in the implementation of the Family and Community Partnership plan.Provide on-going communication and act as a role model for families while being sensitive to cultural differences.Develop, organize, and implement community partnership agreements with community agencies to facilitate the delivery of services to children and families.Participate in appropriate community activities and organizations in order to enhance the building of positive community relations and the provision of high quality services to families and children.Maintain and annually update the Parent Handbook. Assure that this handbook is distributed to all parents of enrolled children and is updated electronically on the website.Facilitate shared decision-making and the effective operation and activities of parent groups, center committees, and/or the Policy Council by providing assistance as requested by the Policy Council president or program director.Serve as an advocate and spokesperson for families by assisting them in receiving services and informing them of their legal rights.Serve as the Site Coordinator for the Foster Grandparent Program.Serve as the Field Instructor for ACU/HSU Social Work Intern Students.Participate in multi-disciplinary staffing meetings.Participate in the annual self-assessment process.Perform all other duties requested by the Head Start Director/Principal.Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Frequent walkingLifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipmentEnvironment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noiseWage/Hour Status: ExemptPay Grade: Administrative - Professional - 3The Abilene ISD does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
