Accounting Manager / Assistant ControllerWorkForce Unlimited is hiring an Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to join our Finance team in Charlotte, NC.This is a high visibility role for someone who enjoys hands on accounting ownership, team leadership, process improvement, and working closely with operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable owning core accounting functions while helping build structure, improve workflows, and support continued company growth.Compensation$90,000 to $110,000 base salaryScheduleHybrid schedule based in Charlotte, NCIn office Tuesday, Wednesday, and ThursdayRemote Monday and FridayWhat You Will DoSupport month end close and help ensure financials are accurate and timelyPrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reportsMaintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded correctlyOversee billing, accounts receivable, collections, and AR agingSupport accounts payable processing and vendor paymentsOversee payroll processes and payroll related reconciliationsPartner with internal teams to resolve billing, payroll, payment, and reporting issuesManage and support accounting, payroll, and billing team workflowsHelp improve processes, document SOPs, and create stronger cross trainingSupport system and process improvements across TempWorks, Acumatica, Concur, Fieldglass, and timekeeping systemsWhat We Are Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5 plus years of progressive accounting experienceExperience managing, mentoring, or supporting accounting staff preferredStrong general ledger, month end close, and financial reporting experienceExperience with payroll, billing, accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payableStrong Excel skillsExperience with accounting, payroll, ERP, or staffing related systemsAbility to work in a fast paced, growth focused environmentStrong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow throughHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentialityIdeal BackgroundThis role could be a strong fit for someone currently working as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Accounting Supervisor, Senior Accountant, or similar accounting leader who is ready for more ownership and growth.Staffing, workforce solutions, professional services, consulting, field services, facilities services, or other service based industry experience is highly preferred, especially where payroll and billing are closely connected.Why This RoleThis is a strong opportunity for someone who wants more than a narrow accounting seat.
